Did they change the band? Good…The colors stay true for a long time, I use mine every week and they still look great. The material is light and not TOO hot though I sometimes take it off to cool down. Comfy to wear for a long time, I can do a 4 hour hike in these with no problem.Bad…It seems they changed the band. See the picture, the orange one has a real terry band, the blue one only the inside is a thinner terry material. I run with these and sweat (a lot!). The blue one I can’t use for running it is worthless for keeping the sweat out of my face. I’m not sure if all of them are like the blue one now, my orange one is older.With the better terry band these are great for me, but the thinner one just doesn’t work.
Great hat and here’s why…. Very lightweight, absorbs sweat well! There’s no grommet at the top of the hat (as seen in one of the photos posted that rated it poorly, perhaps it was an older model?), so nothing to rust(?), just a plastic clip on the back. LOVE that the “underbrim” is black, really helps block the sun and also like the built in “headband” (not a full headband, but built to absorb sweat). It’s quite a “deep” hat, so can pull down low over your head if desired (e.g. to block sun, avoid people, etc.). Definitely recommended!
Prefer old design of hat over the new wrapped terry band design. I first purchased the orange hat and I love it. The hat is very lightweight and I love the fact that there is no velcro to always grab my hair in the back. I have a large head for a female and very thick hair so I always have to get men size hats in L/XL. This hat fits me, barely. It is very comfortable and I can wear the hat for hours while exercising. Now here is the problem I have with it. I ordered the white hat and was about to send it right back because I didn’t see the terry headband on the hat. I called the company and they said they now wrap the terry headband with the material of the hat. I prefer the old style. I sweat a lot and loved the fact that the old design has more terrycloth real estate on the hat. The new design has the terry band at less than 2/3rd the width of the old model.
